What should billing software for a bag and luggage shop do?
Bags and luggage sell in sizes and colours, at a bargained price, often by a salesman on incentive. Tap & Bill records the salesman on each bill with an incentive report, stops staff selling below your lowest price without your PIN, and takes 18% GST out of the MRP. On the Growth or Pro plan it also keeps each trolley or bag design with its sizes (cabin, medium, large) and colours, and scans the brand barcode.

Example: a family buys luggage
Salesman Imran sells a trolley, a backpack and a wallet at MRP (prices “with GST”, 18%) and gives ₹700 off the bill. The owner has set a lowest price of ₹4,200 for the trolley and a staff discount limit of 10%.

The ₹700 is 9.7% of the bill and the trolley stays above ₹4,200, so the bill saves. If Imran gives ₹1,200 instead, the trolley comes to about ₹4,165 after its share of the discount and 16.7% is above the 10% limit: the bill waits for the owner’s PIN. The bill prints CGST ₹495.54 + SGST ₹495.53. Imran’s incentive is 2%, so this bill adds ₹130 to his incentive report.

What is the GST on bags and luggage?
Tax sites list most bags, suitcases and backpacks (HSN 4202) at 18% GST after the 22 September 2025 change, with handbags and shopping bags of cotton or jute at 5%. Wrist watches are 18%. Confirm with your CA.
Can I scan the barcode on branded luggage?
Yes, with the optional Stock & barcodes (Growth and Pro, and during the free trial). Save the brand’s EAN on that size and colour and scan it with a handheld scanner or the Android phone camera.
How does salesman incentive work?
Add salesmen with an incentive % (no login needed), pick one on each bill, and the report shows each salesman’s bills, pieces, net sales after returns and incentive in rupees. You can make a salesman required on every bill.
Can I stop salesmen giving too much discount?
Yes. With Mol-Bhav Guard, set a lowest price per item or design and a staff discount limit. A staff bill below either needs your PIN at the counter. It is on every plan.
Does Tap & Bill track warranty?
No. There are no warranty or serial number fields. The bill, with date and items, stays in the bill history and on the customer’s WhatsApp.
