myBillBook alternative for clothing shops
What is a good myBillBook alternative for a clothing shop?
Tap & Bill is a billing app for clothing shop counters: category billing with bargained rates, size and colour on each line, alterations, exchanges with credit notes, udhaar, your UPI QR, and bills on WhatsApp in English, Hindi or Gujarati. Every plan has separate staff logins (owner + 2 staff from ₹499 a month). myBillBook fits better if you need inventory, accounting, e-invoices or an iPhone app.
myBillBook is a GST billing, inventory and accounting app for retailers, wholesalers and distributors. Tap & Bill is narrower: a counter billing app for clothing shops, with the staff, alteration and WhatsApp tools a busy counter uses every day. Here is how they compare.
Switch to Tap & Bill if
- Two or more people bill at your counter and each needs their own login.
- You bill by category and change the rate for bargaining, without item masters.
- Alterations and size exchanges are part of every day.
- You want to send festival offers on WhatsApp to many opted-in customers each month.
- You want the owner to see staff-wise sales live from home.
Stay with myBillBook if
- You keep stock across godowns, with barcodes or batches.
- You need bookkeeping, bank reconciliation and GSTR-1 / 3B reports in the app.
- You make e-invoices or e-way bills.
- You need an iPhone app or a Windows desktop app.
- One user is enough and the lowest yearly price matters most.

Where myBillBook is better
- Inventory. Godowns, batches, barcodes and low-stock alerts are in myBillBook. Tap & Bill has no stock features.
- Accounting and GST returns. myBillBook has bookkeeping and GSTR-1 / 3B reports. Tap & Bill gives your CA a GST report, but no books of accounts.
- e-invoice and e-way bill on its Pro Max plan; Tap & Bill has neither.
- More devices and languages. iPhone and a desktop app, and Tamil and Hinglish besides Hindi and Gujarati.
- Price for one user. Its Plus and Pro yearly plans cost less than a year of Tap & Bill Starter.
- Online store and loyalty points are listed; Tap & Bill has neither.
Why clothing shops pick Tap & Bill
A clothing counter on a Saturday rarely has one person billing. Tap & Bill gives each person a login on every plan, and the owner sees who sold what. One example day at a shop on the Growth plan:
| Login | Bills | Sales | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ravi (staff phone) | 9 | ₹12,400 | 2 alterations taken, ready Monday |
| Meena (counter computer) | 7 | ₹8,950 | 1 exchange: credit note used on a new bill |
| Owner (own phone) | 3 | ₹4,300 | ₹1,200 on udhaar, reminder sent on WhatsApp |
| Today | 19 | ₹25,650 | Staff-wise and cash / UPI / card / udhaar split in reports |
Before Diwali the owner sends one offer to the shop’s opted-in customers. On Growth, 300 offer messages a month are included, so a broadcast to 300 customers needs no extra pack; on Pro, 1,000 a month. Customers who reply STOP stop getting offers.
- Staff can cancel only their own bill within 15 minutes; the owner can cancel any bill with a reason. Nothing is ever deleted.
- Customers who asked for a size you didn’t have are on the Not in stock list, with their number.
- Bills print on your 58 or 80 mm printer and go on WhatsApp in the customer’s language.
What each costs in a year

| myBillBook Plus | 1 user + 1 CA | ₹3,490 (shown against ₹4,833) |

| myBillBook Pro Max | 3 users + 1 CA, POS billing, e-invoicing | From ₹570 a month billed yearly (about ₹6,840) |
