Ready dates in a notebook
Add the work and the ready day on each bill line with + Alteration. The Alterations list shows late, due today, tomorrow and later, on every phone and the computer.
For tailors, stitching centres and alteration shops
How can a tailor shop keep track of stitching orders and payments?
Bill the job when the customer gives the cloth: one line per garment, a ready date on each line, and the advance as a split payment with the rest on udhaar. Tap & Bill prints a tailor slip with the ready date in big letters, lists what is late and due today, sends a “ready” message on WhatsApp, and shows the balance due when the customer collects. It does not store measurements.
Add the work and the ready day on each bill line with + Alteration. The Alterations list shows late, due today, tomorrow and later, on every phone and the computer.
Print a tailor slip for each garment on the bill printer: ready day in big letters, the piece, the work, the bill number and the customer.
Take the advance by UPI or cash and put the rest on udhaar with split payment. The Udhaar due list shows every balance until it is collected.
Tap Mark ready and the customer gets a WhatsApp message with the bill number, in English, Hindi or Gujarati.
Several phones bill into one account, and late jobs show in red so you know what to finish first.
Keep lining, padding or fall-pico as their own tiles, or type them on Quick bill. Each shows as a line on the bill.
Pick “Clothing” or “Other” as the shop type at sign-up so the + Alteration button shows on bill lines. Name each tile after the garment, because the tailor slip and the ready message use that name. A typical setup (example prices):

A registered shop charges GST on stitching; tax sites list tailoring and stitching services at 5% since 22 September 2025. With Same rate on everything at 5%, the order above becomes:
| No GST (not registered) | GST-registered at 5% | |
|---|---|---|
| Blouse + Lining | ₹550 | ₹550 taxable |
| GST | None | CGST ₹13.75 + SGST ₹13.75 |
| Customer pays | ₹550 | ₹578 (₹577.50 rounded) |
| Bill heading | Simple bill | TAX INVOICE with your GSTIN |
Confirm the rate and the SAC code with your CA, and add the code to your categories on Prices & categories. See GST billing.
If you need full measurement records and karigar tracking, a tailoring management app fits better. If you want bills, ready dates, slips, advances and WhatsApp messages without a register, Tap & Bill fits.
