Petpooja Invoice alternative for clothing shops
What is a good Petpooja Invoice alternative for a clothing shop?
Petpooja Invoice is a broad retail and B2B billing and inventory product from the restaurant-POS company Petpooja, sold after a demo at about ₹5,000 to ₹8,500 a year + GST (third-party listings). Tap & Bill is built for the clothing counter, with a self-serve 14-day free trial, from ₹199 a month or ₹1,499 a year + GST. Choose Petpooja Invoice for several outlets, e-invoices, Tally or full accounts. Choose Tap & Bill for sizes, alterations, salesman incentive, staff price limits and Hindi or Gujarati bills on phone and computer.
Petpooja is best known for restaurant billing. Petpooja Invoice is its separate product for shops and wholesalers: GST billing, inventory, purchases, accounts, e-invoices and multi-outlet sync, sold after a free demo. Tap & Bill does much less of the back office and more at the clothing counter, and you can start it yourself today. This page sets the two side by side so you can choose for your own shop.
Switch to Tap & Bill if
- You run one clothing, saree, boutique or footwear shop, with one or a few counters.
- You want to start today on your own, without waiting for a sales call: 14 days free, no card.
- You want the price on the website before you talk to anyone.
- You take alterations, pay salesmen an incentive, or lose money when staff bargain too far (Mol-Bhav Guard).
- Your staff prefer the app in Hindi or Gujarati, and customers want Hindi or Gujarati bills on WhatsApp.
- You want WhatsApp bills inside the plan (500 / 2,000 / 5,000 automatic a month on Starter / Growth / Pro), and a galla count at closing.
- You want to fix a wrong bill and keep its full history, not cancel and re-bill.
Stay with Petpooja Invoice if
- You run several outlets, a warehouse or move stock between branches.
- You need e-invoices or e-way bills (B2B, or turnover above the e-invoice limit).
- You want Tally sync, purchase bills, ledgers and a balance sheet in the same app.
- You track batches, expiry dates or IMEI / serial numbers.
- You want loyalty points, or Pine Labs card machines connected to billing.
- You already use Petpooja at a restaurant and want one company for both.

Where Petpooja Invoice is better
- Several outlets and a warehouse. Petpooja Invoice syncs outlets, moves stock between them and runs a head office. Tap & Bill is one shop per account.
- Accounts, purchases and Tally. Purchase bills, ledgers, journal entries, balance sheet, GSTR-1 / 3B and Tally integration are in Petpooja Invoice. Tap & Bill gives your CA a bills CSV and a GST report, not books of accounts.
- e-invoice and e-way bill. Petpooja Invoice makes both; Tap & Bill makes neither.
- Deeper inventory. Batches, expiry dates, IMEI / serial numbers and FIFO. Tap & Bill’s optional stock is about sizes, colours, barcodes, goods received and shelf counts.
- Loyalty, automatic due reminders, card machines and weighing scales. Tap & Bill has no loyalty points; its udhaar reminders open WhatsApp on your phone with the text ready, and you press send.
- Price, if you need a lot. On third-party listings Petpooja Invoice Advanced is ₹8,500 + GST a year. A year of Tap & Bill Growth, the plan with stock and barcodes, is ₹11,988 + GST, so Petpooja Advanced costs less for a year.
- Brand and Play Store. Petpooja has run restaurant POS since 2011 and has two Petpooja Invoice apps on Google Play. Tap & Bill is a newer brand and its Android app is a download from tapandbill.in.
- Weight units. Units such as kg and litre are listed. Tap & Bill quantities are whole numbers, so cloth by the metre is billed as an amount.
Why clothing shops pick Tap & Bill
A small clothing shop usually wants to bill this afternoon, not after a demo slot. With Tap & Bill you sign up from your phone, add categories such as Kurta and Saree with default prices, connect the printer and bill. One Saturday customer, start to finish:
| Bill line | Details | GST the app applies | Amount |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kurta | Size M · Maroon · MRP ₹1,299 | 5% (one piece is under ₹2,500 without GST): ₹61.86 inside the price | ₹1,299 |
| Silk saree | Tag ₹3,400, bargained to ₹3,100 (above your lowest price, so no PIN needed) | 18% (one piece is above ₹2,500 without GST): ₹472.88 inside the price | ₹3,100 |
| Alteration: saree | Fall and pico, ready Tuesday; tailor slip printed | Its own charge line; GST follows your shop’s GST setting | ₹150 |
| Total | Split: ₹3,000 by UPI (your QR shows ₹3,000) + ₹1,549 cash. Sold by Meena | ₹4,549 |
The bill PDF reaches the customer’s WhatsApp in Hindi, the receipt prints with “READY: Tue”, and Meena’s incentive for the month goes up by her %. On Tuesday staff tap Mark ready and the customer gets a WhatsApp. At closing, staff count the galla without seeing what it should be, and the owner sees whether it is short or extra.
- No item master to build: categories with default prices, ready in minutes; turn on stock and barcodes later if you want them.
- Every staff member has their own login; nobody can delete a bill, and the owner can fix one with the old version kept.
- The app and the computer screens work in English, Hindi or Gujarati, each phone in its own language.
Petpooja Invoice price 2026 (as listed by third parties)
Petpooja does not show prices on its Invoice page; it says prices vary by location and asks you to book a demo. Two software listing sites showed these prices on 17 October 2026, and Petpooja’s own blog gives ₹8,500 + GST a year. Ask Petpooja for the price in your city before you decide.
| Plan | What you get | Price for a year |
|---|---|---|
| Petpooja Invoice Basic | GST billing, Tally integration, inventory, barcode scanning, reports (third-party listing) | ₹5,000 + GST (third-party listings) |
| Petpooja Invoice Advanced | Basic plus the advanced features on their page, such as WhatsApp marketing, loyalty and integrations | ₹8,500 + GST (third-party listings; also on Petpooja’s blog) |
| Tap & Bill Basic | 1,000 bills / month, owner + 1 staff login, WhatsApp bills from your own phone | ₹1,499 + GST paid yearly (₹2,388 if paid monthly) |
| Tap & Bill Starter | 1,500 bills / month, owner + 2 staff, 500 automatic WhatsApp bills a month | ₹5,988 + GST (monthly only) |
| Tap & Bill Growth | 5,000 bills / month, owner + 5 staff, bulk WhatsApp offers, optional stock and barcodes | ₹11,988 + GST (monthly only) |
Read it both ways. For a small shop, Tap & Bill Basic (₹1,499) and Starter (₹5,988) cost less than Petpooja Invoice Basic, and you can pay Starter month by month. If you need stock and barcodes, Tap & Bill Growth costs ₹11,988 a year, more than Petpooja Invoice Advanced at ₹8,500; then choose on what your counter uses every day. Both prices are before GST.
How switching from Petpooja Invoice works
Start the free trial or book a demo
14 days free, no card. Import your customers and items from an Excel file, or on a 10-minute demo call we set up your categories (Saree, Kurti, Jeans…) and default prices with you.
Connect your printer and add staff
Pick your Bluetooth or Wi-Fi printer in Settings, set 58 or 80 mm, upload your logo, and give each staff member their own login.
Run both for a week
Bill at the counter in Tap & Bill and keep Petpooja Invoice for purchases, accounts and any other outlets. Compare how long a bill takes at rush hour.
Decide before the trial ends
If it fits, pick a plan. If not, you have lost nothing: your bills from the trial can be downloaded as a CSV file.
Bring your customers and items across
If Petpooja Invoice gives you an Excel or CSV file of your customers or items, open Customers → Import from Excel or Prices → Import from Excel in the Tap & Bill web dashboard and choose the file. No file? Fill in our sample sheet instead.
- Customers come in by mobile number, with their udhaar balance (or advance) as an opening balance you can collect like any other udhaar.
- Items come in with selling price, and HSN, GST %, lowest price and cost price if your file has them.
- Designs and stock (only if you use the optional Stock & barcodes): choose Products & stock on the import page to bring in designs with size, colour, price, MRP, cost, your existing barcodes and opening stock.
- Tap & Bill matches the columns for you and shows every row before anything is saved. Rows with a wrong mobile number or price are listed with the reason; the rest go in.
Old Petpooja Invoice bills and entries stay in Petpooja Invoice; Tap & Bill starts its bill numbers fresh.
